Games Done Quick announced that it has successfully raised $400,000 in under 60 hours during its COVID-19 fundraising event, Corona Relief Done Quick, over the weekend. The speedrunning event was hosted online on the company’s Twitch channel from 17 to 19 April. It aimed to encourage donations for Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization that aims to provide much needed PPEs to communities in need.

“Corona Relief Done Quick has now concluded, and the results are in! As always, 100% of the donations go directly to the charity. Direct Relief is coordinating with public health authorities, nonprofit organizations and businesses in the U.S. and globally to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to health workers responding to coronavirus (COVID-19),” the company announced in its website.

Corona Relief Done Quick is the company’s first event since postponing its Summer Games Done Quick (SQDQ). SQDQ event is now scheduled on 16-23 August 2020, but schedules may change depending on COVID-19 information from official channels. Games Done Quick previously raised $3.1 million during its winter speedrunning event, Awesome Games Done Quick, and this benefitted the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
