A Sony spokesperson announced that disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic may delay the release of the company’s earnings report, but that the virus has had no significant impact on its PS5 production.

As of 27 March, Sony still expects to launch its next generation console, PlayStation 5, by the end of 2020.

Sony’s announcement echoes Gamestop CEO George Sherman’s sentiment the during an earnings conference call the previous week. “[We] will continue to work with the console makers as the launch approaches, but as of now, we have no indication of any impact on the product launch or delivery date, which is expected in time for holiday 2020,” Sherman said.
